Camas Offers New Nightlife Options!

If you haven’t been to Downtown Camas in awhile, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Downtown Camas has opened several new shops and eateries to expand the nightlife and great shopping experience of the district. And on July 5^th, the town will be in full gear hosting its 8^th Annual Car Show and Rock N Roll Night. It’s a great night to come check out all the new venues.

Step out for a fun-filled evening in a charming town with the backdrop of historic storefronts and many new shops and eateries.

Mill City Brew Werks opened its doors in Downtown Camas on June 14th with a full service restaurant and a luxurious amount of classic and comfortable space, including a fireplace and many windows onto the charming, vintage surrounding town and the historical theatre across the street. Expansion plans of the brewery include outdoor seating and tours of the basement brewing operation. The German family’s 150 year old brew recipe and the handcrafted bar bring old world flavor and charm.

New nightlife options also include Harvest Restaurant, run by renowned Iron Chef winner Tim McCusker and featuring innovative comfort food, and Caps N Taps with over 200 bottles of specialty beers and 20 rotating taps. The Historic Liberty Theatre recently installed digital equipment allowing for 3D viewing and will soon be adding beer and wine to the concessions.

Downtown Camas has opened several new shops and eateries to expand the nightlife and great shopping experience of the district and the vintage town makes a perfect backdrop for upcoming Camas Car Show!

Mill City Brew Werks opened its doors in Downtown Camas on June 14th with a full service restaurant and a luxurious amount of classic and comfortable space, including a fireplace and many windows onto the charming, vintage surrounding town and the historical theatre across the street. Expansion plans of the brewery include outdoor seating and tours of the basement brewing operation. The German family’s 150 year old brew recipe and the handcrafted bar bring old world flavor and charm.

New shops in town include Diamonds and Rust, a huge collection of repurposed treasures, and Bella Vita Boutique, fashionable clothing with a younger flare, and Studio 2911, hosting everything from dance parties to art events to wine tasting.

Against the backdrop of this charming town with many new features and the luxurious springtime flowers, the 8th Annual Historic Downtown Camas Car Show and Rock and Roll Night is back and better than ever on Friday, July 5, from 5:00-9:00p.m. It’s a perfect time to come and enjoy the town’s vintage vibe when it’s packed with classic cars.

Last year over 200 classic and specialty cars lined the streets of charming Historic Downtown Camas and thousands of spectators turned out to enjoy the beautiful evening and autos. This year the street closure has been extended to make room for an increased number of specialty autos and added features like the 20×60 booth of RADIO DISNEY. RADIO DISNEY will engage youth with their renowned energy and provide music, crafts, games, and a FREE FAMILY PHOTO download.

Liberty Goes Digital and Celebrates 86th Anniversary!

The Liberty Theatre opened as the Granada on June 14, 1927 and showed both movies and vaudeville shows at the time.

This week the theatre is installing the latest 2K HD Digital projection and sound systems in both of its auditoriums and will showcase these new features with special discounted shows on Friday.

The main theatre which seats 348 will also have 3D as well as 2D presentation. With the new digital equipment, the theatre will have more options to show independent film programs in it smaller Granada Studio.

For Friday’s celebration, admission prices will be $2 for 2D and $3 for 3D shows. The theatre will be open from 12 noon with continuous shows.

The showcase attraction for the day will be a presentation of the 1927 silent classic WINGS starring Clara Bow, Buddy Rogers, Richard Arlen and Gary Cooper. Wings is the story of two men who have gone to war and the girl they both leave behind. Director William A. Wellman makes one of his most humanistic statements as he explores the devastating results of war.

Wings will be screened in the Liberty’s main auditorium on Friday night at 7:30 PM.

Skip Enge featured all of June at the Second Story Gallery

This month enjoy the art of Skip Enge at the Second Story Gallery on the second floor of the Camas Library. Skip Enge has been painting for about 40 years now. Skip has been working with watercolors since the early 70′s and has ”pursued expressive, imaginary,realist, and photo realist works.” He enjoys fly fishing and organic gardening in his very own secret garden, which has inspired some of his paintings.

A good time was had by everyone who attended the Lucky Leprechaun and Go Green Event. The Downtown Camas Association wants to especially thank the following folks who contributed and made the evening so special.
