Coming up in Camas!
Bike race and Camas Live!
France has the Tour de France. Camas has the Camas Twilight Criterium Saturday, July 31. The OBRA-sanctioned race registration opens at 4 p.m.; the first race starts at 4:45 p.m. Come to the criterium to ride, cheer or volunteer! Camas Bike & Sport is organizing the event; a host of local businesses are sponsoring.
Camas Live! is our downtown art festival and will be held this year on First Friday August 6th from 5-8pm and August 7th from 11-4pm. Enjoy performance and visual arts, including dance, music, theater, fine art, kids activities and more. An incredible line up! Join us also for live music and a Mamma Mia sing-a-long to round out the evening on Friday at 7--a fundraiser for the arts in Downtown Camas. Fun!

More than 400 women in attendance and we raised a total of $8,420 for Breast Cancer charities: $7,000 for Kearney Breast Center and Breast Friends, $1,000 for the Gal to Gal Foundation, and $420 for the Hope Stories Book Project. The evening was such a success, because of your support - thank you! We will see you next year!

Camas Antiques and Caffe Piccolo in Sunset
Open to page 79 in the July 2010 issue of Sunset Magazine, the premier resource in Northwest lifestyle, for a glimpse into Camas Antiques mall and Caffe Piccolo Paradiso in Downtown Camas.
Professional shoppers Joe Apodaca and Jermonne Swendell give props to Camas Antiques for its eclectic variety of antiques, collectibles and reproductions. Downtown's own little slice of an Italian coffee shop, Caffe Piccolo Paradiso, also gets a shout out in the magazine as a great, nearby place for a shot of espresso, gelato or those great little cookies that Pam Brown serves.

Downtown Camas Names Main Street program manager
The Downtown Camas Association recently named Lisa M. Christopher its first Main Street program manager.
Christopher, an award-winning heritage tourism expert, was chosen by the DCA after a recent search. Click on the link to read more of the story in The Columbian.
According to Money Magazine, in 2007, Camas is number 63 on the list.

Sometimes the best getaway is close to home, very close to home. Downtown Camas is only 20 minutes from our house. For a weekend in November, it was a perfect escape to shop, eat and celebrate our wedding anniversary at the new Camas Hotel. (More details on this lovely inn later.)
